Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. You will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care while ensuring the comfort and safety of those you assist. Your experience in critical care, geriatrics, and various medical environments will be invaluable as you work with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
Responsibilities
* Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
* Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
* Provide basic care for patients with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and other memory-related conditions.
* Support nursing staff by performing tasks such as medication administration and catheter care.
* Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
* Utilize EMR/EHR systems for patient records management.
* Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and wheelchairs.
* Engage with patients to promote emotional well-being and provide companionship.
* Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience in one or more of the following areas:
* Long-term care experience in nursing homes or assisted living facilities.
* Hospital experience in acute care settings or level I/II trauma centers.
* Critical care experience including ICU or PICU exposure.
* Home care or community-based caregiving experience.
* Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology knowledge is preferred.
* Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is a plus.
