Senior Accountant

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join a respected and client-focused practice in Hull. You’ll work closely with a varied portfolio of clients, review the work of junior staff, and contribute to the ongoing development of the firm.
The Role
As Senior Accountant, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting and advisory services while supporting the wider team.
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
* Preparing corporation tax computations and supporting personal tax work
* Reviewing bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts prepared by junior staff
* Managing your own portfolio of clients and acting as a key point of contact
* Supporting clients with technical queries and providing practical, commercial advice
* Ensuring all assignments are delivered accurately and to deadlines
* Mentoring, guiding, and supporting trainees and junior team members
* Assisting managers and partners with more complex projects when required
This is a hands-on role with excellent scope to progress further.
About You
You’ll be a confident and technically strong accounting professional who enjoys client interaction and team collaboration.
You will:
* Be ACA/ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
* Have significant experience working in a UK accountancy practice
* Possess strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and tax principles
* Be comfortable reviewing the work of junior colleagues
* Have excellent communication and client relationship-management skills
* Be organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple deadlines
* Be confident using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage
