About The Role
As our Student Groups Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in supporting LUU’s award-winning student-led Clubs and Societies programme, recently voted number one in the UK. You’ll empower student leaders to deliver fun, safe, inclusive, and competitive activities by coordinating development opportunities, engagement communications, and compliance with health and safety processes.
You’ll be embedded in the Student Groups team. One role will work closely with our dance, sports and physical activity groups. From supporting the Sports Fair, empowering our teams to lift the trophy at Leeds Varsity, organising a Colour Run, to celebrating at the annual sports awards, no two days are the same. Meanwhile the other role will empower our student societies to take their plays up to Edinburgh Fringe, engage in student activism on campus, and even provide a peer-to-peer support service to support student wellbeing. You’ll provide tailored support to student leaders through training, regular check-ins, and project planning, ensuring they feel confident, celebrated, and equipped to lead.
You’ll also contribute to campaigns that showcase student achievements, ensure compliance with health and safety protocols, and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to secure safe, high-quality activity spaces.
About You
You’re someone who thrives in a dynamic, people-focused role and is passionate about empowering others to lead and succeed. Whether you’ve gained experience through extracurricular involvement yourself or from a related professional role, you understand how vital student activities are to creating a sense of belonging at university.
You enjoy building strong relationships, solving problems, and helping others grow. You’re confident in communicating with a wide range of people: from students and volunteers to staff and external partners, and you take pride in delivering excellent service.
You’re also highly organised, able to manage multiple tasks at once, and confident using digital tools and systems. You have a good understanding of compliance and are comfortable giving guidance or escalating when needed. Most importantly, you’re excited by LUU’s vision and values and want to contribute to a vibrant, inclusive student community.
Why Join LUU?
Aside from working in one of the most vibrant, student-focused organisations in the UK, you’ll also enjoy:
1. A generous holiday allowance of days per year, .5 Bank Holidays and extra Union closure days- with the option to buy extra holiday.
2. NUS TOTUM discount card, onsite staff discounts and discounted travel card.
3. Extensive learning and development opportunities- we believe that to be the best organisation we can be, all our people should be able to learn new skills and develop themselves whilst they work for us.
The people and culture at LUU are often cited as the top reason why people enjoy working here. You will be part of an organisation that not only values but champions inclusion and diversity. You can learn more about our commitment to being an anti-racist organisation and the work we do to ensure that our diverse community is represented and supported .
