Overview
A Vacancy at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Practitioner to work within the Criminal Justice Liaison and Diversion service. Based within the Mental Health Urgent Care Sub-Directorate, we are an all age, all vulnerability service providing assessment, referral and signposting onwards. We are embedded at the heart of the criminal justice system across Coventry and Warwickshire. We work in Police Custody and Court areas, as well as health bases, alongside our key partners such as the Police, Probation Service, Youth Justice and Magistrates. The post holder will work alongside existing team members and our key stakeholders to meet unmet needs, reduce reoffending and support the continued integration of the Liaison and Diversion model across all areas of the team.
Responsibilities
* Primarily support referrals from police custody areas within Coventry and Warwickshire.
* Undertake holistic assessments and identify unmet vulnerabilities.
* Liaise with Police and Courts, Liaison and Diversion colleagues, CWPT services, the third sector and beyond to meet needs and reduce reoffending.
* Help raise awareness of the liaison and diversion service and build partnerships with stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse/Registered Learning Disability Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker with professional experience in mental health, neurodiversity and related vulnerabilities.
* Commitment to high quality care and service provision.
* Ability to work flexibly and as part of a multi-agency team.
* Ability to assess and formulate risk plans.
* Enhanced communication and inter-personal skills.
* Willingness to be police vetted.

The Criminal Justice Liaison and Diversion service is an existing, successful service embedded in the heart of the criminal justice system, supporting some of the most marginalized people with health and social needs to improve health outcomes, reduce health inequalities and reduce reoffending. We are a growing and supportive team with new innovations and services to come. The post holder will work with Police, Courts, Youth Justice, Probation and third sector partners.
