The job itself
Rate of Pay: £13.50 per hour employed / £18.00 per hour self employed
The individual is 61 year old male and resides in Market Weighton. They require a dedicated and suitable person to support them for 4 hours per week to help improve and maintain life and independent living skills and to promote social inclusion in the community.
About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible fo but not inclusive of:
1. Assisting the individual with accessing activities and spending time out in the community. This could include visiting the seaside, visiting garden centres, attending medical appointments, going shopping.
2. Attending/transporting the individual to social activities and appointments.
3. Encouraging social interaction and inclusion and providing emotional support.
4. Support in the community with promoting independent living skills.
About the candidate
The suitable candidate must:
5. Be motivated, proactive and able to work on their own initiative.
6. Be patient, caring and understanding.
7. Have good communication skills (clear and effective communication).
8. Be able to build a positive relationship with the individual to both encourage and support them.
9. Have previous experience caring for an individual with additional needs.
10. Be flexible to accommodate the hours of work where necessary.
11. Must have use of own car, to transport individual to social activities and appointments.
DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post - Cost to be met by the local authority.
