We deal with a wide range of environmental health matters including Food safety, health and safety, animal welfare licensing and public health. About the Role As an Environmental Health Officer in our Food and safety team, you will: Undertake food safety interventions, food complaint investigations, public health registrations, health and safety investigations, infectious disease control and animal welfare licensing inspections. Be a lead officer for high risk/approved premises in the district. Liaise with partner agencies and take part in safety advisory groups and advise of event safety. Be willing to undertake the animal welfare licensing level three course for inspectors. This is a varied and rewarding role that offers the opportunity to work across multiple disciplines, engage with a wide range of stakeholders, and help shape the future of South Staffordshire’s environment and public health. Support the wider Environmental Health & Licensing Team across all functions when required, including food safety, health and safety, housing, and licensing matters. About You We’re looking for someone who is: Professionally qualified with a degree in Environmental Health and a minimum of two years post-qualification experience. Skilled in interpreting and applying environmental health legislation, particularly in relation to food safety and health and safety. A confident communicator with the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, developers, residents, and partner agencies.
