Do you have experience of driving a tractor? Do you want to play a part in making our city look fantastic? Do you like the sound of a role that is responsible for keys tasks from grass cutting through to flailing and hedge cutting? If so, this could be the role for you.
You will be required to drive a tractor with associated cutting, flailing, load carrying plant and trailers and to provide as required a regular, reliable and efficient grounds maintenance service across the city. This will require maintaining parks and open spaces including the Knavesmire where tractor operation is required and carrying out maintenance on open grassland including cutting, application of chemicals and top dressing.
You will also be required at times to provide familiarisation training for other staff on the use of tractors and associated equipment and be responsible for the inspection, safety and correct use of mowers and other machinery and all other Health & Safety related subjects.
You will need to be able to change tractor attachments as and when required and inform your line manager when repairs are needed outside of servicing intervals.
Depending on the time of year, you may also be required to undertake other tasks across Pubic Realm including horticultural maintenance of public areas, hedge trimming, de-leafing, litter removal and associated general gardening tasks.
