Contract: Temporary
Duration: 3 months
Hours: You will 30 hours per week. The shifts are 12 hours in duration. You will work 3 shifts across a 7 days a week consisting of days, evenings and nights, weekends and Bank Holidays.
Hourly rate:
Weekdays £12.70
Saturdays and Nights £17.91
Sundays and Bank Holidays £23.24
The Role
You will be the first point of contact, providing a responsive switchboard and information service around the clock. Your ability to stay calm, use your initiative and adapt quickly will help keep the service running smoothly. Training will be provided through shadowing before you move onto the main rota.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide an efficient switchboard and information service
2. Follow departmental policies and procedures
3. Build a good understanding of the organisation, its departments and key medical terminology
4. Respond quickly to medical emergency calls and activate the correct procedures
5. Manage alarms and major incident alerts, following reporting processes
6. Interpret and manage complex on call rotas for medical and non medical staff
7. Keep on call sheets and notice boards up to date at all times
Requirements
8. The ability to speak Welsh at level 3 or 4 is essential
9. Strong communication and a confident telephone manner
10. Good judgement and awareness of urgent situations
11. Empathy and a calm approach in challenging moments
12. Good organisation and attention to detail
13. Ability to work well in a team and independently
14. Resilience and problem solving under pressure
