Description
The Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee will maintain pools at client's and associated facilities for the company.
Duties/Responsibilities:
* Assists Pool Maintenance Specialist to clean and maintain filled pools and facilities by skimming, vacuuming, and performing chemical treatments.
* Periodically empties pools to perform deep cleaning, including brushing and scrubbing walls, floors, and surfaces.
* Assists Pool Service Specialist to regularly test pool water for pH; chlorine; presence of bacteria, algae, or contaminants; and other data.
* Receives training from the Pool Service Specialist to ensure correct color, chemistry, and clarity of pool water.
* Calculates and adds chemical treatments to maintain pH balance, eliminate contaminants, or correct other problems.
* Inspects pool and equipment.
* Assists Pool Service Specialist to complete and maintain daily logs outlining chemical usage, water quality, repairs, and supplies.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
* Understanding of pool cleaning chemicals and equipment related to swimming pools.
* Mechanical and manual labor skills related to aquatic facilities and equipment.
* Math skills to calculate chemical additives and ratios.
Education and Experience:
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* One year of related experience required.
* Physical Requirements:
* Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at a time.
* Must have adequate sight and hearing to properly interpret water analysis, equipment readings, and complete recordkeeping.
* Physically able to perform all aspects of cleaning, checking, and monitoring pools and facilities.
