Overview
Job Title: Maintenance Engineer, Location: East Midlands Area, Contract Type: Permanent, Working hours: 3 Shift Rotation
A leading manufacturing business is currently looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their established engineering team. This role is critical to maximising production uptime and ensuring equipment is maintained efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
* Prioritise and carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks across the site.
* Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
* Support daily operations by responding promptly to breakdowns and technical issues.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and ensure paperwork is completed on time.
* Ensure TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) schedules are followed and updated.
* Oversee external contractors and liaise with suppliers for parts and services.
* Maintain spare parts inventory and control maintenance-related costs.
* Participate in daily production meetings and provide updates on engineering issues.
* Maintain and update technical documentation including manuals and drawings.
* Support safe working practices and ensure compliance with all health & safety procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Multi-skilled engineer with mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
* Formal qualification in an electrical or mechanical discipline.
* 17th Edition (or later) electrical regulations certified.
* Experience with PLC fault finding and programming.
* Familiarity with plastic injection moulding machinery (250 - 1750 tonne range) is highly desirable.
* Experience in a fast-paced production or automotive environment.
* Overhead Crane Licence is an advantage.
* Strong communication and teamworking skills.
