Field Service Engineer – (Field-Based)Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum DOEHours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to FridayAn established and growing engineering company is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to support across the region. This is a field-based role involving travel directly from home to customer sites.The Role of a Field Service Engineer:You will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and responding to breakdowns on precision machinery at customer premises. The position is hands-on and customer-facing, requiring both technical expertise and strong problem-solving skills.Key Responsibilities of a Field Service Engineer:Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on precision machinery at customer sitesDiagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults efficientlyRespond to breakdown call-outs and minimise customer downtimeProvide excellent on-site customer support and maintain strong working relationshipsComplete service reports and documentation accurately and in a timely mannerEnsure all work is carried out in line with health & safety standardsManage and maintain company-issued tools, vehicle, and equipmentCandidate Requirements of a Field Service Engineer:Proven experience in a field service, maintenance, or mechanical engineering roleStrong fault-finding skills across mechanical systems (electrical knowledge advantageous)Working with industrial machineryFull UK driving licenceAbility to work independently and manage time effectivelyGood communication and customer service skillsFlexibility to travel and occasionally stay overnight when requiredDesirable Skills & Experience:Experience working with cutting machinery such as bandsaws or circular sawsBasic electrical fault-finding and repair knowledgeRelevant engineering qualifications (e.g.
