Planning and Materials Leader role at GE Vernova
GE’s Power Conversion & storage business, part of GE Vernova, provides electrification systems that are critical to customers’ power and energy needs for their high-performance applications. We work with some of the world’s major energy, maritime and industrial organizations, helping to enable a transition to energy efficiency and decarbonization, including through our specialist motors, power electronics, drives and control technologies.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team of planning and materials personnel in materials and operations planning, inventory, production control and procurement requirements, demonstrating strong integration with engineering and manufacturing operations teams and cross functional stakeholders
* Ensures that standard materials processes and standard KPIs are used to provide the best delivery with the lowest inventory cost for the assigned area
* Support the SIOP process (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning): contribute to material procurement timing, order release timing requirements, available capacity, & lead-times
* Lead capacity requirements planning processes by gathering & loading information into planning tools, analyzing data, and providing regular updates
* Ensure that the master schedule and production schedules are synchronized using ERP and other tools. Ensure that training and skills necessary to use planning tools are provided and tools are monitored for appropriate use
* Report, monitor and improve plant materials related KPIs: inventory balance, inventory turns, on time delivery, on time to need, system health & usage, master data adherence
* Lead and Monitor all the logistics activities such as incoming receipts, days to stock, inventory accuracy (cycle counts), and shortages
* Demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals/programs/processes for RMR and Module build
* Uses experience and expertise to solve problems logically, get to root cause and implement prevention to avoid recurrence
* Identifying opportunities to improve materials planning and logistics processes through Lean, Kaizen and the implementation of best practices or new technologies

* Knowledge of the disciplines of supply chain management, such as production and inventory control, variable cost productivity, fulfillment metrics, cost systems, and procedures

* Ability to successfully motivate and maintain high integrity, employee involvement, safety and teamwork
