Internal Transport Manager (CPC Holder) and Team Member Due to continued growth, SUGE is recruiting for the position of UK Transport Manager. This isn’t your typical clipboard-and-checklist role, we’re looking for someone who’s not only CPC-qualified and confident managing a fleet, but also ready to roll their sleeves up and get involved in other day-to-day operations when needed. As part of a small, fast-growing team, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our service to the UK’s leading food producers running smoothly. You’ll be in charge of all transport compliance and performance but equally, we’re looking for someone who’s agile and happy to help out across the business when needed. Think of it as part Transport Manager, part team player. The successful candidate can be based within easy commute from Whittlesey. About Us SUGE is not your typical waste company. Key duties will include: Managing a team of drivers moving across the UK to and fro multiple sites within SUGE’s haulage network Tachograph analysis and management of driver performance Manage a mixed fleet of vehicles and drivers Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained and always fit for purpose Ensure drivers act in accordance with all legislation Ensure compliance with DVSA standards Oversee the planning of daily deliveries and collections Keep up to date on changes in standards and legislation Oversee fleet maintenance, servicing, MOTs, and defect rectification Maintain up-to-date records for all vehicles and drivers Ensure compliance with tachograph legislation and working time directive Provide compliance training and updates to drivers Prepare for audits and vehicle inspections Willingness to support outside of your “job title” because in a small team, every role is a team effort Essential skills and attributes Candidates MUST have recent experience in a Transport Manager capacity and hold a CPC Strong understanding of legal compliance – drivers’ hours and WTD Highly organised and efficient IT literate and data – able to use data for optimal reporting as well as making informed decisions Experienced in managing customer relationships Clear evidence of leading and developing people Highly organised and makes good use of time management Agile and versatile – able to quickly provide appropriate solutions as problems present themselves Be a team player.
