To lead on providing high-quality vocational education and training for all learners, reflecting the specialist knowledge, skills, and behaviours required in industry and by external awarding organisations.
Responsibilities
* Lead curriculum teams to embed the requirements of the Ofsted EIF/SDS into teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
* Support new vocational instructors and assessors during their induction and probationary period.
* Provide tailored support to instructors and assessors with areas for development identified through observations.
* Conduct Learning Walks to monitor teaching quality.
* Participate in quality reviews and support the quality team.
* Deliver CPD sessions on teaching, learning, and assessment.
* Develop and deliver Personal Development lessons.
* Liaise with Awarding Bodies and End Point Assessment Organisations.
* Plan and deliver engaging practical and theory lessons aligned with industry standards.
* Develop inclusive teaching resources.
* Use assessments to provide individualised learner support.
* Provide regular feedback to learners.
* Monitor learner progress via the Learner Management System.
* Develop learners' personal, English, maths, and digital skills.
* Collaborate with Apprenticeship Coaches and participate in reviews.
* Implement strategies for learners at risk.
* Offer career guidance to learners.
* Follow safeguarding policies and foster a safe, inclusive learning environment.
* Ensure health and safety compliance.
* Build relationships with industry professionals and stakeholders.
* Attend relevant professional development events.
* Maintain positive attitudes and behaviours.
Knowledge and Experience
* Level 3 vocational qualification related to the role.
* Relevant specialist licences.
* Industry experience in construction or related roles.
* Level 5 teaching qualification or willingness to attain within two years.
* Assessor Awards or willingness to achieve within one year.
* Continuous professional development evidence.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* English and maths at Level 2 or above.
* Organisational skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
* Higher construction-related qualification.
* Experience in apprenticeship delivery.
