An established UK engineering and project delivery business is seeking a Health & Safety Officer to support the safe,pliant delivery of installation, refurbishment and maintenance works across construction projects and live operational leisure environments.
This role offers a hybrid working model,bining office presence, home working and regular UK site visits. You will work closely with operational leadership, project teams, contractors and clients to embed strong health & safety standards across a varied project portfolio.
Location & Working Pattern
1. Office based in Greater Manchester (2 days per week)
2. Remote working (3 days per week)
3. Regular UK travel to project sites and meetings (Approx 2-3 visits per month)
Salary & Benefits
4. £35,000 – £40,000 (dependent on experience)
5. Auto‑enrolment pension
6. Mileage paid at HMRC rates (£ per mile)
7. All amodation and subsistence expenses fully reimbursedHolidays increase by 1 day per year of service up to 30 days + Bank holidays
Key Responsibilities
8. Support the safe andpliant delivery of installation, refurbishment and maintenance works across construction projects and live operational environments.
9. Promote a positive health & safety culture and ensurepliance with UK legislation, including the Health & Safety at Work Act and CDM Regulations 2015.
10. Produce, review and manage Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), ensuring practical control measures are implemented and followed on site.
11. Carry out site inspections and internal audits, tracking actions through to close‑out and supporting external inspections where required.
12. Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses,pleting reports, identifying root causes and supporting RIDDOR reporting where necessary.
13. Deliver toolbox talks, site inductions and safety briefings, supporting workforcepetence and engagement.
14. Maintain accurate H&S documentation and ensure subcontractors and suppliers meet required safety standards.
15. Support environmental controls, wellbeing initiatives and the management of health & safety accreditations and PQQ submissions.
About You
16. NEBOSH qualified
17. Previous experience within the construction sector
18. Confident engaging with contractors, site teams and senior stakeholders
19. Organised, practical and able to work autonomously
