Job Overview
Chalkhill Family Practice is seeking an experienced, motivated and organised Reception Manager to join our friendly GP surgery team. The Reception Manager will lead and support our reception team, ensuring a high-quality and efficient front-of-house service for our patients.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with excellent leadership and communication skills, ideally with experience in primary care or a similar healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
. Line-manage and support the reception team, including rotas, training, and appraisals.
* Ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the reception and front desk.
* Oversee patient enquiries, appointments, and repeat prescription requests.
* Manage patient flow, ensuring efficiency and a positive patient experience.
* Work closely with GPs, nurses, practice manager, and administrative staff.
* Implement and monitor policies, protocols, and best practice.
* Support in Secretarial and coding work.
* Support digital systems including online access, appointment systems, and telephony.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in a supervisory or management role, ideally in healthcare.
* Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
* Ability to manage a team in a busy and sometimes pressurised environment.
* Good IT skills, with knowledge of GP clinical systems (EMIS ) desirable.
* A patient-centred approach and commitment to high-quality care.
