Offer description

At Roche you can show up as yourself, embraced for the unique qualities you bring. Our culture encourages personal expression, open dialogue, and genuine connections, where you are valued, accepted and respected for who you are, allowing you to thrive both personally and professionally. This is how we aim to prevent, stop and cure diseases and ensure everyone has access to healthcare today and for generations to come. Join Roche, where every voice matters.

The Position

Our 2026 Intern Accelerator offers a unique opportunity for passionate individuals to gain hands-on experience in the medical device industry while making a positive impact on the world. We are transforming our internship from a "program" into a launchpad—a 12-week intensive journey designed to ignite potential and deliver real business impact.

Are you ready to join a global network spanning 20+ countries, where bright minds collaborate to tackle real-world challenges? Do you want to work on impactful projects, shape the future, and drive change from within?

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to work at our Scottish sites. As a recent acquisition manufacturing an innovative new product for Roche, this role offers hands-on involvement with both cutting-edge technology and the integration of a newly acquired site.

For 2026, we have identified a business need for interns to support our teams across the following functional areas:

* Manufacturing Operations (Reagents): Dive into the heart of production. You will support the manufacture of the precise chemical formulation of our testing solutions (Reagents).

* Manufacturing Operations / Process Engineering (Sensors): Supporting the high-tech, automated assembly of our diagnostic sensors by optimising production processes, improving yield and ensuring robust, scalable operations. Collaborating cross-functionally to troubleshoot issues and implement continuous improvement opportunities.

* Quality Control (QC): Quality is our final word. At Sensor QC, we bridge the gap between production and patient safety. Join us to support product investigations, optimise and develop test procedures, and ensure every test result is beyond reproach.

* Safety, Health & Environment: Our Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) team ensures a gold-standard workplace that protects our people from hazards. You will support site-wide compliance and sustainability initiatives, helping us deliver life-saving diagnostics while maintaining an injury-free, eco-friendly operation.

* Research & Development (systems / electronics): Our Systems and Electronics R&D teams integrate advanced hardware, sensors, and embedded software to our diagnostic test platform.

* Research & Development (Assay): Our Assay Development R&D team designs and optimises high-precision tests to detect and quantify specific targets. You will collaborate on the "bench-to-pilot" process, refining experimental protocols and validating new technologies to drive our next generation of diagnostic or therapeutic discoveries.

* Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs (QA/RA): Our team acts as a strategic partner to Operations and R&D, navigating the path from a laboratory concept to a real-world medical solution. You will support our local Q&R teams in ensuring our life-saving diagnostic tools and processes are safe, effective, and compliant with global standards. Your direct support will help ensure our Right to Operate.

The "Accelerator" Experience

* The Mission Roadmap: Your 12 weeks include an onboarding bootcamp, cross-functional rotations during and a mid-point check-in.

* The Co-Pilot Program: You will be paired with a staff member for day-to-day support and informal learning.

* Mission Control: Our Managers and Site Leadership provide strategic direction to ensure your project succeeds.

* Skill Mastery: Become a "process ninja" with a Yellow Belt certification, master AI using Roche tools, and develop creative storytelling skills.

* Vibe Check: Build real connections through "Lunch with Leaders," team socials, and an "Escape Room Challenge".

Who You Are

You are currently finishing year 3 or year 4 of your degree. You are eager to apply your expertise in a modern work environment through a 12-week internship, gaining insight into the medical device industry.

In addition, you:

* Are a strong communicator and networker, comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

* Possess influencing skills to drive projects across multiple operational sites.
