What will the Bookkeeper role involve?
Managing day-to-day bookkeeping across a varied client base, using leading cloud accounting platforms such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage
Processing purchase and sales invoices accurately and efficiently
Performing bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure data integrity
Preparing and submitting timely VAT returns in compliance with regulations
Assisting with payroll tasks where applicable, supporting wider finance functions
Acting as a main point of contact for bookkeeping clients, managing communications professionally
Supporting accountants with accounts preparation to meet deadlines
Maintaining accurate and compliant financial records that underpin business success
Suitable Candidate for the Bookkeeper vacancy:
Proven bookkeeping experience, ideally within an accountancy or finance practice environment
Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles with meticulous attention to detail
Hands-on experience with cloud accounting software like Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage
Confident in preparing and submitting VAT returns
Highly organised with excellent time-management skills to handle multiple deadlines
Effective communicator who builds strong client relationships and manages expectations
AAT qualified or actively working towards qualification is desirable
Payroll processing experience and ability to multitask across clients considered a plus
