HGV Class 1 Day Driver People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Day Driver to join our well-established client based in Garretts Green, West Midlands. Shifts: Monday to Friday, start times between 3am - 7am starts Rates of pay: Basic: £16.00 per hour Benefits: Your benefits as a HGV Class 1 Driver are: Excellent hourly rates Ongoing work Weekly pay Site canteen Training provided Immediate starts Employee well-being programme Day-to-day duties: As a HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but not be limited to): Carrying out RDC or trunking work (curtain-side, no handball required) Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured properly Adhering to traffic laws and regulations Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo when required Essential skills: To be successful as a HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need: A valid UK Category CE licence A minimum of twelve months experience driving Category CE vehicles No more than six penalty points for minor infringements, with no major endorsement codes A valid UK CPC card and Digi card Good spoken and written English Punctuality and excellent time-keeping skills A solid understanding of traffic laws and regulations Effective communication skills Desirable experience: Previous commercial driving experience Previous multi-drop delivery experience Training: Drivers will have a short assessment before any shifts Industry related training provided and ongoing support throughout Contact: If you are ready to take on this exciting opportunity as a HGV Class 1 Driver, apply today by clicking the link below or contact our recruitment team to find out more People Solutions do not charge candidates any fees or request deposits at any stage of the recruitment process
