Head of Procurement – Permanent
Full time – Office based
Our client is progressing into the next stage of its cost‑efficiency agenda and is looking for a seasoned procurement leader to guide the function through a focused period of change, capability uplift and measurable delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Shape and implement an organisation‑wide procurement strategy that aligns with the group’s transformational and cost objectives.
* Lead the procurement team, embedding governance, processes and tools to support the transformation agenda.
* Drive commercial gains through effective category strategies, supplier negotiations and ongoing performance oversight.
* Collaborate with Finance, Legal and senior executives to uncover savings, improve supplier contribution and reduce commercial risk.
* Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships through well‑structured contracts and high‑performance expectations.
* Ensure transparent decision‑making, regulatory compliance and strong financial controls across procurement activity.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement through regular performance evaluation, external benchmarking and capability development.
Qualifications
* Proven procurement leadership experience in shaping and delivering organisation‑wide strategies.
* Strong skills in negotiating commercial agreements and delivering value through structured sourcing and vendor management.
* Experience leading teams through change, building effective processes, governance and systems.
* Ability to partner with senior stakeholders to influence decisions, manage risk and unlock cost and value opportunities.
* Expertise in developing strong supplier relationships grounded in accountability and mutual performance.
* Experience overseeing complex procurement portfolios with high levels of transparency and fiscal discipline.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with Finance and Legal teams to set consistent standards and controls.
* Commitment to ongoing improvement and raising the capability of the procurement function.
