Their team of specialist solicitors handles a wide range of family law matters, including complex financial disputes, children law, and domestic abuse cases.They are now seeking a Family Solicitor (NQ3 PQE) to join their Luton office. The firm is open to both traditional employed positions and consultant or fee-share arrangements, depending on experience and preference.This is a strong opportunity for a junior to mid-level solicitor looking to develop their career within a supportive and well-structured family law environment.The RoleYou will manage a varied caseload of family law matters, working across both Legal Aid and private client work.
Your responsibilities will include:Managing a caseload of family law matters with appropriate supervision where requiredHandling divorce and financial remedy proceedingsManaging private and public children law casesDealing with domestic abuse matters and emergency injunction applicationsWorking on cohabitation disputes and TOLATA claimsPreparing Schedule 1 Children Act applicationsAdvising on pre-nuptial and related family law agreementsPreparing legal documentation, drafting, and case progression workSupporting advocacy preparation and client representationEnsuring accurate case management and compliance with Legal Aid processesWhat We're Looking ForWe are seeking a motivated Family Solicitor with strong technical ability and a client-focused approach.Essential RequirementsNQ3 years PQE in Family LawStrong understanding of Legal Aid processes, including eligibility and applicationsExperience managing family law casework (public and/or private)Ability to run a caseload independently with appropriate supervisionStrong drafting and advocacy preparation skillsExcellent communication and client care skillsStrong organisational skills and attention to detailCompetence using case management systems and standard IT toolsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, client-focused environmentDesirable ExperienceExperience across both Legal Aid and private family law workExposure to TOLATA, Schedule 1, or injunction mattersPrevious experience in a high-volume family law practiceExperience supporting senior solicitors on complex casesFamiliarity with billing processes and private client financial workA portable client base (advantageous but not essential)Working StructureThe firm offers a flexible and supportive working structure designed to suit different levels of experience:Balanced and manageable caseloads with appropriate supervisionFlexibility between Legal Aid and private work depending on preferenceStructured onboarding and training for junior solicitorsOngoing supervision and professional support where requiredA collaborative environment focused on quality and client care rather than pure volumeOpen discussion around systems and working arrangements at interview stageWhat's On Offer?Competitive salary of £35,000 £50,000 per annum (DOE)Consultant / fee-share option available for suitable candidates28 days annual leave (including bank holidays)Ongoing training and professional developmentSupportive and collaborative team environmentFlexible working structure depending on candidate profile and experienceWhy Apply?This is an excellent opportunity for a Family Solicitor looking to develop their career within a respected and supportive practice.
