Vice President, Data Scientist – AI Hub

Responsibilities
* Lead complex, end to end AI solution development on BNY’s AI platform ELIZA—from problem shaping and experimentation to deployment, adoption, and measurable business impact.
* Provide technical direction to pods; guide prioritization, trade offs, and architecture decisions across Product, Engineering, Operations, and Governance.
* Design and embed responsible AI practices into solutions—clear evaluation methods, transparency standards, risk controls, and human oversight patterns—while helping shape the AI Hub’s responsible AI framework.
* Partner with platform teams to deliver scalable, observable, secure capabilities; establish drift/quality monitoring and cost aware performance.
* Mentor juniors; uplift engineering quality via documentation, reusable accelerators, and communities of practice.
* Contribute to AI Hub standards, reference architectures, and platform components.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Engineering/Management (advanced degree preferred).
* Significant experience delivering AI/ML in enterprise environments with proven ownership of multi phase or multi pod programs.
* Deep applied experience across LLMs/NLP, agentic systems, retrieval architectures, robust evaluation, and enterprise grade delivery.
* Demonstrated ability to simplify complexity, set technical direction, and drive outcomes across teams.
* People leadership: Experience leading junior staff and matrixed contributors; proven mentorship and quality bar setting.
