Our client is a specialist property lender, backed by institutional capital, providing flexible residential development and bridging finance to SME housebuilders and property investors across the UK. The Opportunity: As the business continues to grow, we are seeking to identify an ambitious Assistant Account with excellent growth opportunity. This is an outstanding opportunity for an AAT qualified or part-qualified accountant who is eager to learn and develop, with a commercially focused mindset. Responsibilities: Bookkeeping & General Ledger Support Maintain accurate financial records, including the cash book and general ledger Process payment runs, employee expenses, and post month-end journals Loan Management System Review and validate data input by the operations team Audit and maintain data accuracy within the loan management system Manage the interface and data integrity between the loan system and general ledger Treasury & Cash Flow Management Perform regular bank reconciliations Assist in the preparation of weekly cash flow reports Support short- and long-term cash flow forecasting and funding requirements Execute funding requests and manage day-to-day cash balances Month-End Close & Reporting Assist the Senior Accountant with month-end close processes and account reconciliations Support the preparation of management reports and financial analysis packs Audit & Year-End Processes Prepare audit samples and respond to audit queries Contribute to the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and tax submissions Systems & Financial Controls Ensure timely and accurate data entry into the accounting system Support continuous improvement of finance processes and internal controls Skills and Experience: We are seeking a candidate who is enthusiastic about learning and professional growth, with a strong commercial awareness. Previous exposure to financial services or lending is highly beneficial. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with a positive attitude, demonstrating flexibility and an open-minded approach to challenges.
