Smile Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Oldbury. This is a full-time role with an immediate start, ideal for someone passionate about supporting young learners and helping them thrive in the classroom.
The Role You will be supporting a Year 1 class, working closely with the class teacher to help pupils develop key early learning skills. Part of your day will involve providing targeted support for two children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access the curriculum and engage positively with learning.
For the remainder of the day, you will work with small groups of children, supporting their development in:
Reading
Writing
PhonicsExperience or familiarity with the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised phonics scheme would be advantageous, though this is not essential.
Requirements To be considered for this role, you must:
Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or an equivalent qualification)
Have experience supporting children in a primary school setting
Be confident working with small groups and supporting pupils with SEN
Demonstrate patience, enthusiasm, and a positive approach to learningWhy Apply?
