A friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school in Darwen is currently recruiting a Key Stage 1 Class Teacher to cover a 12‑month maternity leave. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated teacher to join a supportive team and deliver high‑quality teaching during a full‑year placement.
The appointed teacher will play a key role in maintaining consistency and high standards for pupils in KS1, delivering engaging lessons that encourage curiosity, confidence, and progress.
The Role Includes:
* Teaching a KS1 class and delivering the full curriculum
* Planning engaging and differentiated lessons to meet varying needs
* Monitoring pupil progress and supporting attainment goals
* Creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
* Working closely with school staff, parents, and carers
The Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience teaching in Key Stage 1
* Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum
* Positive, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach
* Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
This maternity cover position is paid in line with the Main Pay Scale and offers valuable long‑term stability within a Darwen primary school.
