Infrastructure Business Analyst
Job Title: Business Analyst – Infrastructure Projects (Contract)
Location: Hybrid – 3 days per week in Sheffield office, remainder remote
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Initial 6 month contract,
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Business Analyst to support the delivery of complex infrastructure programmes currently in flight. This role will play a key part in ensuring successful migration and integration activities. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the CTO function, delivery teams, and technical SMEs to drive clarity, document requirements, and support project execution.
Key Responsibilities
* Engage with stakeholders to gather, challenge, and document business and technical requirements.
* Support infrastructure-related project delivery including servers, cloud migrations, and network infrastructure.
* Collaborate with delivery teams to monitor progress and provide clarifications.
* Document technical processes, identify gaps, and ensure consistency across documentation.
* Create and maintain test cases and support UAT.
* Assist in planning and executing migration activities.
* Translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-friendly language.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience delivering infrastructure projects (e.g., cloud, network, application hosting).
* Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
* Experience working in enterprise IT environments, ideally within the financial sector.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Ability to work autonomously, show initiative, and quickly adapt to new projects.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
* Experience with Agile methodologies and end-to-end project delivery.
Business Analysis Deliverables
* Scope definition and process mapping (current and future state).
* Target Operating Model (TOM) design.
* Gap analysis and options evaluation.
* Requirements elicitation and documentation (Epics, User Stories using BDD).
* Data mapping and operational impact analysis.
* Support for UAT and test case documentation.
Technical & Tooling Proficiency
* Familiarity with distributed computing, secure network/firewall configurations, and IP/network tooling strategies.
* Experience with application hosting, database environments, and data protection architectures.
* Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Experience with Jira and Confluence.
Desirable Qualifications
* IT Service Management certification (e.g., ITIL).
* Experience in large-scale, complex project environments.
* Background in financial services or regulated industries.
