About The Role
We're looking for an organised, resident-focused Technical Support Officer to join our Housing Property Services Team. The role will be primarily based at 19 Bennet Road, Reading, RG2 0QX, but there is flexibility for hybrid working. Key Responsibilities
* Support building and fire safety compliance by reviewing and assuring fire safety contractors' work, maintaining accurate records, spreadsheets, and databases.
* Monitor compliance performance, identify gaps or risks, and proactively collect and validate data to ensure residents are safe.
* Take minutes of meetings, liaise with customers, and carry out post‑work surveys and inspections, both on site and over the phone.
* Provide day‑to‑day administrative and technical support to the Compliance Team, including processing purchase orders, invoices, and job orders.
* Produce monthly reports and performance data for the compliance manager.
* Work closely with colleagues, contractors, customers and other stakeholders to track and assure compliance data and keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
Qualifications
* Strong administrative and IT skills, particularly with Excel and database management.
* Ability to manage competing priorities, maintain attention to detail, and deliver high‑quality work in a busy environment.
* Experience working with customers both in person and over the phone, demonstrating professionalism, empathy and the ability to resolve enquiries effectively.
* Excellent communication skills, including the ability to draft clear correspondence, take accurate minutes and proofread documents to a high standard.
* Comfortable working accurately and efficiently in a busy environment, and confidence taking on responsibilities such as minutes and post‑work surveys.
* Desirable to have a technical qualification or experience in building and fire safety.
