We are a team of Bladder and Bowel Specialist Nurses, Pelvic Health Physiotherapists and Assistant Practitioners with expertise in the care and treatment of bladder, bowel and pelvic health conditions, including pelvic floor dysfunction, continence and incontinence support.
We are supported by our administrative team.We offer a service to clients in Ashford, Canterbury and Coastal, South Kent Coast, Thanet and west Kent areas.
Main duties of the job
We have an opportunity for a Trainee Bladder and Bowel Specialist Nurse to join us on a 6 month secondment.
You will use your skills, knowledge and experience to deliver high quality continence services within the Kent Community Foundation NHS Trust. You will ensure they deliver excellent, effective and efficient clinical nursing services and be able to triage, assess, treat and manage clients with a bladder and/or bowel dysfunction and be able to refer on as appropriate.
You will provide a Bladder and Bowel Service within the Community setting and assist the Band 7 Specialist Nurse in the planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating specialist care for patients with bladder and/or bowel dysfunction.
Additional Working Pattern: M-F 0900-1700

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Current NMC Registration
2. Previous Bladder and Bowel care experience
Desirable criteria
3. Willing to undertake further training in continence management to degree level
4. Teaching qualification such as ENB 998
5. Documented competencies in bladder and bowel/continence care
6. Relevant specialist continence course such as ENB978 or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
7. Evidence of Clinical audit participation
8. Experience working as an autonomous practitioner and clinical decision making
9. Significant nursing experience
Desirable criteria
10. Community experience Research and evaluation Teaching experience
11. Experience working with patients with bladder and bowel dysfunction
Knowledge
Essential criteria
12. Working knowledge of Depravation of Liberties
13. Able to demonstrate underlying knowledge of management of bladder & bowel disorders.
14. Working knowledge of legislation and national guidelines
15. Working knowledge of Safeguarding of adults and children
16. Working knowledge of Mental capacity act
Desirable criteria
17. Experience of gynaecology or urology conditions/working within this speciality Degree Nursing
