We're working with a welcoming and ambitious primary school in South Gloucestershire seeking a dedicated Education Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity to build a positive, supportive relationship with a child and play a key role in helping them succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
The role
You'll work closely with teachers and SEND professionals to ensure your designated pupil can fully access learning, develop confidence, and make meaningful progress throughout their school journey.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
* Delivering targeted learning activities to support literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum outcomes
* Supporting the implementation of EHCP targets and individual support strategies
* Delivering pre-planned interventions and small group activities when required
* Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
* Using a range of approaches and resources to support engagement and independence
* Supporting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and social development
* Assisting during breaktimes, educational visits, and wider school activities

You'll be patient, proactive, and passionate about helping children achieve their potential.

* Have experience supporting children with additional needs, particularly pupils with EHCPs
* Can build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
* Are confident adapting support strategies to meet individual needs
* Can work independently and use their initiative
* Have experience delivering targeted learning activities or interventions

* Are committed to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare
