Responsibilities
* Develop your skills across a wide range of exciting projects, both in the office and on site.
* Learn and use relevant assessment and design software.
* Take part in client meetings and assist in building key client relationships.
* Apply digital skills to help the business harness technology in new ways.
* Work with mentors who support you as you study toward nationally recognised qualifications and accreditation.
* Spend dedicated time on your university studies (average 1 day per week/year).
* Collaborate with geoscientists, engineers and environmental professionals on real projects from day one.
* Gain hands‑on experience on office and site‑based tasks, including open greenfield, construction and operational buildings.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants aged 16‑18 at the start of the apprenticeship must hold GCSE qualifications in both Maths and English at Grade C (4) or an equivalent qualification. Typical A‑levels are ‘BBB’, BTEC is ‘DDM’ or International Baccalaureate is ‘29’. Skills in communication, IT, teamwork, creativity and enthusiasm to learn new things are essential.
Other Requirements
The role will involve a mix of office and site‑based tasks, possibly including travel across the UK. A valid UK driving licence is required. Apprentices must be flexible to accommodate the needs of the business and training.

Training & Schedule
The apprenticeship runs 40 hours a week Monday to Friday with flexible daily timings. Approximately 20% of the working hours will be spent training or studying. Training is provided by Keele University and may be delivered remotely or on campus. The programme lasts 5 years and 6 months, commencing 1 September 2026, and culminates in a BSc (Hons) Geoscience degree and a qualification in the Geoscientist (Degree Apprenticeship) Level 6 (ST1356 v1.1 Apprenticeship Standard).
