Control Systems Engineer (C&I)

We're seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer (C&I) to help us deliver high-integrity control systems that meet exacting performance and safety standards. You will work as a control systems engineer within our product development team, collaborating with stakeholders to understand high-level system requirements and refining these for hardware, software, and electronic product design. You will work closely with our product owners and development teams using agile Scrum methods to develop high integrity software and FPGA-based applications, adopting the latest tools. Training will be provided as needed.
Key Accountabilities:
* Specify product-level requirements and coordinate with design teams and vendors to ensure these are met.
* Work within our product development team to refine high-level system requirements for hardware, software, and electronic design.
* Collaborate with product owners and development teams using agile Scrum to develop software and FPGA applications.
* Manage system requirements, including traceability, through product maturity gates.
* Verify final product designs against system requirements.
* Engage across Rolls-Royce to enhance systems engineering capabilities.
* Contribute to process improvements and product quality audits.
* Understand control engineering technologies and allocate requirements accordingly.
* Work closely with Product Owners to define product specifications based on higher-level system requirements.
Qualifications:
* Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
* Experience in architecture design, V&V, requirements analysis.
* Experience in FPGA design (VHDL or Verilog).
* Knowledge of PLC development and industrial control systems (e.g., Siemens).
* Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery models.
* Awareness of safety-critical development standards (e.g., DO-178B/C, IEC60880, IEC61508).
