Role
I am working with an excellent client of mine Scottish Water who are looking to recruit an assistant buyer on a 6-month contract to join our Electrical and Mechanical Planning team in Stepps.
What you get
• Hours (8am-3:30pm) Monday to Friday
• 2 days on site 3 days at home
• £14.34 p/hour + holiday pay
Expectations
• You'll keep our E&M Craftspeople stocked and ready to go. From requesting quotes to receipting invoices, you'll make sure requests for materials are processed smoothly and efficiently. You'll use Scottish Water's Supplier Frameworks to deliver great value for our customers every time.
• Working to KPIs and SLAs that keep everything running smoothly. Along the way, you'll get to know the ins and outs of different local and geographic practices, sharing your insights with the team and building strong relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
• This is an exciting time to join E&M, as we continue to enhance our processes and develop innovative solutions both in the field and in the office. We encourage everyone to be involved which will allow you to build your knowledge of the equipment that keeps Scottish Water's assets running smoothly.
Requirements
• We're looking for someone who's eager to learn and grow. You'll be committed to picking up new skills and putting them into action. This role can be fast paced, with unexpected requests or priorities popping up, so you'll need to stay flexible and ready to shift focus when needed.
• Being customer-focused is a must. You'll have a real desire to deliver top-notch service to our customers, keeping their needs at the heart of everything you do. Great communication skills will help you build strong relationships, whether you're dealing with customers, colleagues, or suppliers.
• Solid IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office, will be key for this role.
If you've dabbled in tools like Ellipse, Salesforce or FAB, that's a bonus, but don't worry – we'll help you master them, if needed.
