About the Role
The primary responsibility of the Support Manager Catering Services is to oversee Arcare’s catering and dining services in the region. This includes the provision of guidance and support regarding Arcare's catering systems and processes to Residence Managers (RM’s), General Services Managers (GSM’s), Chefs and Catering assistants
The Support Manager Catering Services is responsible to the National Food & Beverage Manager for the delivery of a five-star dining experience across all regional / allocated Arcare Residences.
The role is responsible for monitoring the financial performance of each residence within their territory against the catering budget ensuring the delivery of a quality dining experience that is aligned with Arcare values and policies.
The role will provide leadership, direction and support to the chefs and catering teams so they can meet the requirements of their roles.
Your primary functions will be:
1. Provide guidance and support as required to the Residence Managers.
2. Ensure compliance with the food safety program, client dietary preferences, WHS, Infection control practices and quality standards, this includes providing the necessary training and ongoing leadership to catering teams within the region related to outbreak processes
3. Work with the chefs and catering teams for the ongoing maintenance of Food safety records and preparation for scheduled and unscheduled audits
4. Develop and implement “Cost of Goods” strategies for financial control working with the Chef and the residence manager.
5. Monitor all residence within their territory are staffed within budget and are resourced to ensure quality of service
6. Provision of leadership, support and guidance for the recruitment of chefs, performance management reviews and training plans.
7. Conduct annual performance and career development reviews with Head Chefs and Chefs.
8. Provide support to Head Chefs and residence team to deliver solutions to clients catering related concerns or complaints and develop sustainable solutions to enhance the dining room experience within residences.
9. Drive and monitor client surveys and trend results across regional territory and apply strategies at residences requiring support.
Skills and Experience
10. Relevant management experience
11. Catering/hospitality certificate III and or IV /Diploma qualification in Food Management/Administration.
12. Community and Health Services - Food Safety Supervisor Certification.
13. Adaptable, passionate and willingness to learn.
14. Collaborative and skilled at teamwork.
15. Friendly and effective communication abilities.
16. Extensive experience in food safety including HACCP, development of Food Safety Plans and fulfilling all reporting requirements
17. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
18. Driver’s license.
