Our largest global client is now looking to mobilise a new team on to one of their biggest portfolio projects, this role will be working across the UK on multiple government buildings overseeing the entirety of the works. The operation will be renewing and replacing current security systems. To qualify for this position all candidates must have worked in a similar compliance role. Work closely with the nominated representative to retain the Principal Contractor role. The QSHE advisor will review and confirm documentation and or RAMS compliance or make observations for improvement.
Main Duties
* Promote and develop a Safety Culture which secures effective implementation of policy, procedures, and responsibilities throughout the operational delivery.
* Ensure compliance with all associated project Health and Safety, Risk, Business Continuity and Environmental Policy and Processes.
* Ensure the creation of the right framework and tools that will assist and develop the operational line management teams to manage a safe working environment for the wellbeing of clients, service users, visitors, and employees.
* Monitor the production and review of risk assessments that are in sufficient detail and proportionate to the risk.
* Undertake regular Health and Safety inspections and audits of units (with their safety representatives as necessary) and report findings.
* Embed and support the maintenance of quality systems to retain ISO accreditation
* Review and implement the policies and procedures for Health and Safety for contracts and liaise with Project teams and their appointed supply chain to ensure that appropriate monitoring is in place so that all personnel understand and are adequately trained to carry out their individual responsibilities in relation to health and safety at work.
* Provide competent advice and Health & Safety solutions in relation to Health and Safety issues across all project disciplines
* Manage the arrangements for incident, accident and statutory inspections and enquiries, agreeing and implementing necessary changes
* Ensure that systems for identifying and recording Health and Safety training (including induction) operate properly
* Produce monthly Health and Safety update including accident statistics and present findings to Lead Project Manager
* Liaise with the account QSHE Manager on any matters that require additional support on any matters that require support
* Support due diligence activities as part of the project delivery across the regions
* Provide Health & Safety advice to colleagues at all levels
Qualifications
* Min of 3 years' occupational Health & Safety in a QSHE or similar role in a multi-site business or project discipline
* Strong communication skills.
* Excellent operations/client relationship management abilities.
* Experience working in a standards/compliance environment.
* Ideally a Health and Safety Qualification - IOSH / NEBOSH
* Current knowledge of Health, Safety legislation.
* Able to work outside of normal hours if an emergency arises which needs urgent attention
Desirable
* Experience of delivering Projects and 'hard services' key compliance areas is an advantage.
* NEBOSH (or equivalent) - National General Certificate and/or Diploma
