The Role:
The successful candidate will act as a senior technical resource to deliver and support solutions and services for customers based on Kubus’ cyber and security portfolio of products and services. To be the compute and storage subject matter expert in occasional support of Pre-Sales.
The role provides post-sales support for delivering cybersecurity solutions that include professional services, hardware, software, and managed services. This position requires a unique skill set that balances technical competency and excellent communication skills to ensure that solutions are delivered on time, on budget, and right the first time. Act as a senior escalation role for the engineering delivery team and support billable professional services delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing:
DELIVER (Primary Role)
5. Install, configure, harden, and test cyber‑security solutions at customer sites or remotely.
6. Deliver programmes of work for global customers with cyber‑security requirements across secure networking, firewalls, micro-segmentation, identity, and cloud security.
7. Liaise with customer representatives and third‑party organisations to coordinate delivery and ensure secure-by-design practices are followed.
8. Take on any role as required within the Delivery function including Support Desk, TechOps, basic Project Management, Professional Services, Managed Services, and Consultancy.
9. Lead teams of engineers during delivery of cyber‑security projects.
10. Mentor and coach mid‑level and junior engineers in cyber technologies and best practices.
11. Complete all project and delivery documentation, tickets, asset records, and systems updates.
12. Work with project managers, solutions architects, and delivery leads in preparation, planning, and execution of secure solution delivery.
13. Ensure secure implementation of network and security technologies including policy design, rule‑base optimisation, and secure configuration baselines.
14. Deliver customer projects aligned to best‑practice frameworks such as NIST, CIS, and ISO .
15. Understanding of security standards and frameworks: at least working familiarity with ISO, NIST CSF, CIS controls, vendor hardening guides.
16. Risk‑based thinking: ability to justify design and configuration decisions in terms of risk reduction and business impact.
17. Stakeholder interaction: gathering requirements from product/infra teams, explaining trade‑offs, and supporting change management and CAB processes.
18. Hands‑on deployment: installing, configuring, and tuning security products (on‑prem and cloud), including policies, rulesets, certificates, logging, and HA/DR setups.
19. Integration and automation: integrating with SIEM/SOAR, ticketing, directories, and CI/CD where relevant; infrastructure‑as‑code or configuration management is a strong plus ( Terraform, Ansible).
20. Pre‑deployment design docs: HLD/LLD, implementation plans, migration and rollback plans, and cut‑over/runbooks.
21. Post‑deployment optimisation: monitoring effectiveness, tuning rules to reduce noise, capacity/performance considerations, and knowledge transfer to ops/SOC teams.
PRE-SALES (Secondary Occasional Role)
22. Engage in customer pre-sales activities to include presentation and whiteboard sessions as well as providing written work such as RFI responses and Statement of Works.
23. Working with Solutions Architects, design robust solutions for customers encompassing a wide range of cyber security products and services.
24. Deliver onsite presentations and demonstrations of solutions in isolation and alongside Kubus representatives and those from our vendors.
25. Designing end‑to‑end security solutions: taking high‑level requirements and selecting appropriate products, controls, and integration patterns.
26. Working with Solutions Architects, produce Bill of Materials for sales that can be converted into customer quotes
27. Manage Helpdesk tickets generated by sales staff in a timely manner
28. Create standard project documentation such as LLD to allow delivery engineers to deliver projects to our customers
TECHNICAL CERTIFICATION
29. Maintain all current and future industry and vendor certifications and ensure they remain active
30. Complete vendor led and self-study learning to complete certifications as required by the business
31. Identify potential training courses that will be of benefit to the individual and the business
PROFESSIONAL & MANAGED SERVICES
32. Attend customer site to deliver solutions and services
33. Ownership of assigned customer projects
34. Define project scope for customer engagements
35. Produce high quality customer documentation
CONDUCT
36. Professionally representing the Company whilst at external meetings, visits and when meeting customers as per the Kubus Code of Conduct

What We’re Looking For:
39. Proven experience deploying and configuring enterprise security technologies ( NGFW, IDS/IPS, WAF, EDR/XDR, IAM/PAM) in production environments.
40. Strong knowledge of network and system security fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, VPN, TLS, Windows/Linux hardening, segmentation).
41. Experienced in producing HLD/LLD and implementation plans, and executing migrations/cut‑overs with rollback plans.
42. Experience integrating security tools with SIEM/logging and ITSM/ticketing platforms.
43. Experienced hands-on delivery technologist, particularly in leading brand secure network and cyber system design, includes SASE, zero trust, DLP, secure endpoint, privileged access, WAF, NAC.
44. Happy to travel nationally and internationally for prolonged periods of time.
45. Valid UK passport with no constraints on travel.
46. Strong pragmatic problem solving skills.
47. Expert level knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, tools and processes that impact the design, implementation and support for secure enterprise network delivery and data protection.
48. Expert level knowledge of common risk mitigation techniques and cybersecurity controls
49. Knowledge of offensive cybersecurity practices associated with various cybersecurity assessments such as penetration testing, web application assessment, API assessment, etc.
50. Ample experience designing, implementing, and supporting cybersecurity solutions.
51. Ability to develop and maintain relationships with peers throughout the business and with customer contacts
52. Hands on experience with CLI and/or orchestration platforms
53. Strong communication skills, a ‘can-do’ attitude and a self-starting ethos

Desirable:
60. Cloud security skills: AWS/Azure/GCP security services, cloud IAM, security groups/NSGs, key management, logging/monitoring in cloud.
61. Application security awareness: OWASP Top, API security concepts, and how to position WAF, RASP, and other controls around apps and APIs.
62. Secure deployment practices: integrating security checks into CI/CD where applicable ( secrets management, image scanning, IaC scanning).
63. Cloud security implementation experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), including security groups, IAM, KMS, and logging.
64. Familiarity with IaC/automation (Terraform, Ansible) for repeatable security deployments.
