Due to continued growth, this is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with Customs and Freight Forwarding experience to join a dynamic and supportive environment. What you'll do: The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting customs operations, ensuring the timely and compliant clearance of goods, and working closely with internal departments, customers and external partners. You will play a key role in maintaining high operational standards while supporting the wider business. Main Responsibilities: Completing all Customs Import, Export and Cross Trade activities accurately and on time Preparing and submitting customs declarations in line with HMRC regulations Ensuring all operational activities are completed within required timeframes Monitoring and reporting any amendments to customs entries to the line manager Carrying out spot checks on entries and reporting findings weekly Ensuring all Import Duties and VAT are correctly applied and invoiced Maintaining and utilising the operational system at all times Liaising with customers, suppliers and internal teams to ensure smooth shipment processing Supporting sales teams by identifying and passing on potential new business leads Following up on outstanding payments in conjunction with credit control Producing reports within set deadlines Ensuring all invoicing is completed within 48 hours of activity Supporting with insurance processes and escalating claims where required Providing holiday and sickness cover when necessary Working in line with company SOPs and maintaining compliance at all times What you need: Minimum 2 years' experience within Customs / Freight Forwarding Strong knowledge of UK & EU customs procedures and compliance Experience using the CDS system (Imports & Exports) Understanding of HMRC amendments and reclaims Knowledge of transit procedures and ETSF (desirable) Experience within road transport / logistics / haulage (desirable) Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload Able to work independently and as part of a team Flexible approach to working hours when required Why you'll love this role: 20 days annual leave Bank Holidays 5 days holiday Company pension with increased contributions after one year Private Medical Scheme (after one year's service) Death in Service (after six months' service) Employee Assistance Programme for you and your family Access to a wide range of employee discounts and benefits Holiday loyalty scheme (up to 5 additional days) Access to independent financial advice How to apply: If you have relevant experience or you'd like to know more about this opportunity, please get in touch today.
