Overview
Mechanical Maintenance Engineers required in Telford, Shropshire. Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer seeking a new job opportunity, predominantly mechanically biased and happy to work a 3 shift rotation system? We are actively looking for 6 Maintenance Engineers to join a leading manufacturing business in Telford, Shropshire. This is working a 3 shift rotation system (mornings, afternoons and nights) with a salary of just over GBP 46,000 per annum (which includes a shift allowance).
The hiring manager is looking for someone who holds an HNC (or equivalent) as a minimum requirement; alternatively, someone who has previously completed an Engineering Apprenticeship and has obtained a degree through their apprenticeship would also be a good fit. We are looking for candidates who have come from an FMCG environment, as well as candidates who have previously come from the armed forces or military (RAF, British Army, etc.).
Candidates who have previously worked in roles such as maintenance engineer, maintenance technician, multi-skilled engineer, multi-skilled maintenance engineer, mechanical maintenance engineer, mechanical maintenance technician, mechanical fitter, electrical engineer or shift engineer, automation engineer, mechanical technician, tool repair technician, or tool maker would be a good fit for this role.
What You Will Do
* Respond swiftly and efficiently to machinery breakdowns, ensuring faults are identified and resolved to a high standard.
* Collaborate with production staff to optimise line productivity, enhance cycle times, and maintain quality standards.
* Implement improvements and modifications to boost overall line efficiency and achieve production targets.
* Investigate and apply continuous process improvements, focusing on reducing quality defects and enhancing machine productivity.
* Manage departmental stock, track spending, and source quality components while controlling costs.
* Mentor junior team members and apprentices, providing guidance and support to develop their skills.
What You Will Bring
* HNC or NVQ4 in an engineering function.
* Proven experience in a similar role within an FMCG manufacturing environment.
* Strong mechanical engineering qualifications (desirable).
* Supervisory experience with the ability to lead and inspire a team.
* A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
