We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join us in our busy Point of Care Testing Team (POCT). Our work covers a wide range of POCT devices over a large variety of departments across ELHT in both hospital and community settings. The appointee will have exceptional communication skills and will be required to demonstrate a high level of IT Office 365 knowledge and experience of delivering training.
Main duties of the job
The Practitioner will assist the Point of Care Coordinator (POCC) in the implementation of the Trust wide Point of Care Policy. The post holder will work under both direct and indirect supervision on the wards and in the departments of the Trust that use Point of Care devices, and in the Pathology laboratories. Note this is not a patient facing role.
They will be proficient in the use of these devices, oversee their operation in the clinical area, ensuring that Standard Operating Procedures are followed, Quality Control and Quality Assurance is performed, training and assessing users as appropriate. Be a key contact for the point of care department for all IT related issues. The Practitioner will deputise in the absence of the deputy POCC.
The Practitioner will be required to work across ELHT sites regularly at Royal Blackburn Hospital and Burnley General Hospital sites with occasional visits to other ELHT sites including Community sites and they must have full UK driving license and access to own vehicle for travel.
