CPU Architect
The CPU Architect will be responsible for the development of a new and competitive CPU architecture, defining interfaces between hardware, firmware, and operating systems for systems based on it. They will collaborate with other architects to ensure client requirements are met, bridging architectural excellence and user experience. The role involves carrying out duties as assigned by the line manager, with responsibilities and specifications subject to ongoing review.
Responsibilities and Requirements
1. 5+ years of relevant experience.
2. Strong understanding of CPU instruction set architecture and assembly language.
3. Familiarity with ARM, RISC-V, MIPS architectures, and micro-architecture of current CPU cores.
4. Experience in software development using C, C++, assembly, and Python.
5. Experience modeling microprocessors with higher-level languages like C/C++.
6. Ability to work effectively in a cross-geographical collaborative environment.
7. Desired: familiarity with AVX, SVE, SME, CCA, Morello/CHERI technologies.
8. MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
9. Experience in compiler backend development, including code generation, performance analysis, and optimization.
10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
