Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer (9-Month Contract)
Location: Yorkshire (Hybrid - Site & Office)
Contract Length: 9 Months
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: Competitive (Outside IR35 considered)
We're looking for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join a 9-month contract supporting a major infrastructure or development project in Yorkshire. You'll play a key role in the planning, execution, and interpretation of geotechnical investigations and ground assessments.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and oversee ground investigations (GI), including logging and sampling
* Analyse geotechnical data to inform foundation and earthworks design
* Provide input into risk assessments and ground movement analysis
* Liaise with designers, contractors, and clients to support delivery
* Produce technical reports and recommendations aligned with UK standards
Requirements
* Degree qualified in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
* Proven UK site investigation and geotechnical design experience
* Skilled in logging (BS5930), lab testing, and GI supervision
* Strong understanding of shallow and deep foundations, slopes, and ground conditions
* Excellent communication and reporting skills
Desirable
* Experience with software such as HoleBASE, gINT, PLAXIS, or GeoStudio
* Chartered or working towards chartership (ICE, GeolSoc, etc.)
