The University of York's Directorate of Facilities Management & Campus Services (DFMCS) is looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our Cleaning Services team this summer! About Us: DFMCS plays a crucial role in providing outstanding facilities for work, study, and research, enhancing the student experience both on campus and online. You'll be a vital part of keeping our beautiful campus clean and welcoming! Your Role: Ensure allocated campus areas are cleaned to a high standard. Perform general cleaning duties as directed by your Supervisor or Cleaning Manager. Learn to use cleaning materials and equipment safely and efficiently. Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment. What We Offer: A rewarding summer role in a prestigious university setting. Competitive pay and holiday entitlement for the fixed term period. A structured work schedule: 20 hours per week, primarily 9:30 am - 1:30 pm, Monday to Friday. What You'll Bring: Ability to undertake manual handling tasks, including lifting linen bundles and operating floor cleaning machinery. Flexibility to work weekdays and some weekends. Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions. Basic computer literacy (email, online systems). A positive attitude and a commitment to delivering excellent service.
