We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Capital Accountant to join us.
This is a key role in which you will deliver high quality financial services and business partnering with the Asset Management Team during the delivery of Warm Homes: Social Housing project as required by Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ).
The Role
You will ensure we deliver our business objectives and uphold our commitment to customers and DESNZ.
As our Assistant Capital Accountant, working within the Asset Management Team, you will establish financial controls and implement reports from various internal and external sources to enable accurate and real time reporting of all Warm Homes Programme capital and revenue expenditure in line with Funding Agreements.
You’ll capitalise relevant costs within the Fixed Asset system on Open Accounts, and ensure all aspects of management and statutory accounting data for the Warm Homes programme is correctly reflected.
About you
To be successful you will have achieved AAT Level 4 or be qualified/currently studying towards ACCA/CIMA
You’ll have experience of capital and fixed asset accounting and will therefore be able to understand and enforce internal financial controls.
Excellent attention to detail is essential along with strong interpersonal skills and you’ll have a proactive attitude to challenge and question in order to obtain accurate information.
You'll also have good ICT skills to include a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Power Query/BI. Previous experience using Open Accounts, eBIS financial software and QL is desirable but training will be provided.
This post requires that the job holder is subject to a DBS check at a basic level.
