Role Purpose
Role Purpose The Industrialisation Manager is the strategic leader responsible for defining and executing the industrialisation vision across the manufacturing organisation. This role ensures that all new products, technologies and processes are successfully transitioned from design into stable, scalable and cost‑effective production. Operating at a senior level, the Industrialisation Manager drives manufacturing readiness, process capability and cross‑functional alignment across engineering, operations, manufacturing, supply chain and quality. This role is accountable for industrial strategy, NPI governance, factory readiness and continuous improvement across the full product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Industrial Strategy & Leadership
o Define and own the long‑term industrialisation strategy aligned with business growth, technology roadmap and manufacturing capability.
o Lead the industrialisation function, including managing multi‑functional teams across Production Engineering - Mechanical and Electrical & Test Engineering.
o Drive strategic decisions on make‑vs‑buy, automation, capacity expansion and technology investments.
o Establish industrial KPIs and ensure consistent delivery across all programmes.
* New Product Introduction (NPI) Governance
o Oversee all NPI programmes from concept to mass production, ensuring readiness at each stage gate.
o Champion DFM, DFA and DFL across engineering and design teams.
o Ensure robust planning and execution of prototype, pilot, pre‑production and ramp‑up builds.
o Provide high‑level visibility of NPI risks, readiness and mitigation plans.
* Manufacturing Process Excellence
o Lead the development, validation and optimisation of manufacturing processes, equipment and automation.
o Ensure process capability, repeatability and scalability across all production lines.
o Oversee PFMEA, control plans, process validation and documentation standards.
o Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma and advanced manufacturing methodologies.
* Factory Readiness & Ramp‑Up
o Ensure manufacturing sites are fully prepared for new products, including layout, equipment, staffing and training.
o Lead cross‑functional readiness reviews and ensure alignment with operations, supply chain and quality.
o Drive yield improvement, cycle‑time optimisation and cost reduction during early production phases.
o Resolve complex production issues through structured problem‑solving and cross‑functional leadership.
* Supplier & Technology Partner Management
o Oversee supplier industrialisation readiness, tooling development and process capability.
o Evaluate and select equipment suppliers, automation partners and contract manufacturers (with collaborations of IPT Operation Managers & Supply Chain teams).
o Ensure external partners meet quality, cost and delivery expectations.
* Cross‑Functional Collaboration
o Act as the senior interface between engineering, operations, supply chain, quality and programme leadership.
o Provide strategic input into product roadmaps, technology development and operational planning as appropriate.
o Influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across multiple functions and sites.
* Team Leadership & Capability Development
o Build and develop a high‑performing industrialisation organisation with strong technical and leadership capability.
o Mentor engineering and operations teams in industrialisation best practices.
o Foster a culture of innovation, accountability and continuous improvement.

* Scrap and rework costs during ramp‑up
Quality Performance
* Ensuring new products meet quality standards from day one.

Required Skills & Experience
Technical & Professional
* Extensive experience in industrialisation, NPI, or manufacturing engineering leadership within a complex manufacturing environment.
* Deep understanding of manufacturing processes (mechanical, electrical, automation, assembly, testing).
* Proven track record of leading NPI programmes and production ramp‑ups
* Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and advanced manufacturing technologies
* Experience with multi‑site operations, automation strategy and process capability development
