As a Legal Advisor you will support the Earth and Environment businesses across the UK, ensuring contractual and commercial risks are managed and mitigated while fostering a culture of compliance and smart contracting.
Job Description
WSP is a leading professional services firm supporting global projects. We are looking for an experienced solicitor to deliver high‑value legal advice to our rapid‑growing environmental services, including mining and earth‑related sectors. Your focus will be on engineering consultancy contracts, joint‑venture arrangements and all matters that touch on Hd and earth‑related legal frameworks.
A Little More About Your Role
* Working closely with Earth and Environment teams to embed contractual and commercial risk management and regulatory compliance.
* Reviewing and negotiating contractual documentation relevant to the earth, mining and environment sectors – consultancy agreements, project contracts, JV/teaming agreements, framework agreements, collateral warranties, novation deeds, reliance letters, NDAs, LOsIntents and sub‑contract agreements.
* Performing legal reviews to minimise impact on WSP’s working capital and promoting timely contract conclusion.
* Maintaining corporate governance through contract reviews and approvals for bids and new contracts.
* Providing advice on tenders and bid documentation to identify and address risk and promote competition.
* Supporting contract delivery to maximise revenue, minimise risk and enable effective contract management.
* Collaborating with internal business disciplines, bid teams, commercial and operations directors and finance teams.
* াঙ্গUpdating the business on relevant legal developments and occasionally delivering training.
* Contributing to the organisation and dissemination of legal 'know‑how' and providing 'lessons learned' feedback to the wider business.
* Teamwork and collaboration across functions at all times.
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate
Successful candidates will be a qualified solicitor or barrister in England & Wales with subsequent experience in engineering and construction contract law. In‑house experience at a consultancy or contractor is preferable,ROID and complex joint‑venture arrangements.
