Exciting Leadership Opportunity – 8A Matron (Division C)
We are thrilled to offer this opportunity for a dynamic and motivated leader to join Division C as 8A Matron paediatric critical care level 2 discharge lead.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
As a Matron, you will play a pivotal role in upholding the highest clinical quality standards, providing inspirational and visible leadership to nursing teams. You will empower staff to deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based care, ensuring outstanding patient experiences.
We are looking for leaders with good interpersonal and communication skills, who can build strong relationships across clinical and non-clinical teams.
Develop and maintain a ward/department philosophy that has the child/young person at the centre of care delivery. Be the primary focus/role model for all, contributing to inter-professional working.
Evaluate relevant changes in clinical practice, supporting implementation in the clinical area as well as enhancing nursing practice and strategy.
Facilitate evidence-based care acting as a clinical expert at departmental level and developing a quality-learning environment linking education, training, recruitment, and retention.
Manage the ward to ensure 24-hour cover ensuring the correct skill mix.
Undertake Bleep Holding Responsibilities As Required.
Your role will require you to ensure you provide professional nursing leadership to the team enhancing nursing practice and strategy. You will provide assurance that high quality care is delivered to patients, investigating any issues that arise if concerns are raised. You will ensure all requirements for monitoring and compliance are met in line with trust standards.
You will be required to work with the lead matron for the service and the divisional management team in ensuring staffing and vacancies are managed appropriately to reduce the need for agency expenditure. You will manage the ward budget in line with trust guidance and support by the divisional finance team.
As part of your role, you will be expected to participate in the bleep holder roster, managing services across the children's hospital effectively.
You will be required to manage complex teams, prioritise and deliver against agreed objectives and deal with high level problem solving with clear organisational skills and a positive approach to challenges. You must have excellent communication and leadership skills across the multidisciplinary team.

* 1st Level Registered nurse on relevant part of the NMC Register / HCPC Registration
* First degree or equivalent
* Masters or equivalent experience
* Specialist qualification

* Extensive knowledge of National and Local NHS and N&M agenda
* Extensive experience in the acute healthcare setting in clinical leadership/clinical management position
* Evidence of advanced leadership qualities
