GSL Education are seeking a caring and resilient 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Nottingham. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in a child’s learning journey by providing personalised support that helps them access the curriculum, build confidence, and reach their potential. Role Overview: As a 1:1 SEND TA, you will work directly with a pupil who requires additional support. You will adapt activities to meet their needs, encourage independence, and provide consistent guidance to ensure they feel included and supported within the classroom environment. As a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant, you will: Deliver tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with specific learning or behavioural needs. Adapt resources and activities to suit the child’s individual learning style. Promote positive behaviour, emotional well-being, and social development. Liaise with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to follow individual learning plans. Support the pupil both inside and outside of the classroom to encourage engagement and progress. Track and report on the pupil’s progress, providing regular feedback to staff. Requirements for 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant: Experience supporting children with SEND on a 1:1 basis. A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable. Knowledge of strategies to support children with additional needs. Patience, empathy, and resilience in building positive relationships. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
