As we expand our reach and continue to build our team, we are looking for a freelance Race Timing Technician to join our team on a part-time basis covering events across the region!
The Role
We are looking for someone with a passion for running and a good understanding of digital equipment to join RunThrough as a race timing technician, helping to record and collate timings for runners and sports events participants across a range of events!
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the efficient set up, operation, and pack down of technical timing equipment at events
- Ensuring the precise recording and seamless transfer of participant timing data
- Liaising with event organisers and participants to facilitate a high standard of event delivery
- On-site troubleshooting of timing equipment issues (comprehensive training and support provided)
- Managing participant queries in a professional and timely manner
- Delivering detailed post-event feedback and reporting any equipment maintenance requirements.
Skills & Experience Required
The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working in live events and have a passion for the running/sports industry.
Essential:
- Good with technology and adaptable under pressure
- Ability to carry out manual tasks
- Passion for delivering faultless events with a customer-centric focus
- Willing to work on weekends
- Full UK manual Driving Licence and comfortable with driving a van, if required.
Desirable:
- Prior chip timing experience
- Experience working live events
- Keen interest in and knowledge of running.
