Job Description
Location: Glenkeen House Nursing Home, 100 Glenkeen, Randalstown
Main Duties
Deliver nursing care to residents, including administering medication, treatments, and therapies.
Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
Monitor and record vital signs, medical conditions, and progress of residents.
Ensure dignity, privacy, and respect for all residents in all interactions.
You may be required to work in other homes in the business at short notice to assist with staffing levels.
Provide company to the Residents.
Provide professional information to family members about care plans.
Ensuring the needs and wishes of the residents are met.
Working with other health care professionals to provide a high stand of care.
Attend all necessary training when instructed.
Participate in any other duties detailed by management that may be considered relevant.
Report and record any breaks or damages to your manager/or Deputy Managers.
Demonstrate a positive attitude when carrying out duties and be willing to put in an extra effort if an unexpected situation arises.
To attend staff meetings as and when required.
Always maintain confidentiality.
Ensure accountability for care provided and for tasks delegated to staff members.
Ensure care staff are appropriately trained and supervised, ensuring a level of understanding of care staff before delegating care.
Walking the floor, observing resident care firsthand.
Ensuring compliance with care plans and hygiene needs.
Identify areas of improvement and act on such.
Perform routine and specialised nursing procedures as required.
Assist in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of nursing care and resident information.
Liaise with doctors, healthcare professionals, and external agencies regarding resident care.
Work closely with other nursing staff, care assistants, and support staff to provide a coordinated approach to care.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
Mentor and support nursing students.

Keep Residents Care records up to date and inform Manager/Deputy Manager of any changes
Involvement with resident Care plans and keeping records up to date, accurate, meticulous and legible
