Edge Careers are looking for an experienced Site Engineer for a Groundworks Contractor. The Groundworks Contractor predominantly operates within the Residential Sector. They specialise in Roads, Sewers, infrastructure, bulk earthworks and housing plot Groundworks This role is covering the North West Region, Company Van, Fuel Card provided. This is a permanent position and our client is flexible to engaging via ‘PAYE or Day Rate’ for the right individual. Salary is negotiable depending on experience. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations on-site, Setting out, ensuring quality control, liaising with design consultants/Clients. The role requires effective communication and the ability to ensure projects meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy. What’s expected of you: - Experience setting out and surveying within the ‘Groundworks & Civil Engineering’ industry - Knowledge of technical equipment for the role (Leica, Trimble etc) - Proficient in AutoCAD - Capable of producing as-built drawings - Have a good understanding of site QA paperwork - Proficient in using a GPS kit for surveying and setting out (beneficial) - Have an understanding of GPS machine control. (beneficial) - Overseeing multiple live sites - Ability to have a high level of accuracy and quality engineering to assist site teams and other site engineers with output of quality and ensuring a compliant product - Ensuring that the latest drawings and information provided is accurate by checking drawing registers for all site operations and liaising with the technical department / team. - Any discrepancies to be resolved with the Technical Department - Ensure that all setting out is checked once completed to ensure no errors have occurred during the process or from the client - Keeping and logging adequate records for future reference and back up - Store points and record changes or errors via email - Ensure that any site/sites are monitored for setting out requirements by liaison with the relevant Contract Manager, Project Manager or Site Foreman - Reaction to urgent requirements and prioritising workload on site and communication with other site engineers - Checking instruments used are accurate and secure by maintaining a testing and service calibration regime - Maintaining company and client Health & Safety policy at all times If this opportunity is something that you would look to explore further then please send across your cv.
