Michael Page are actively working with a long standing client, who are searching for a new Accounts Payable Team Leader to join their team in York on a permanent basis. My client is looking for a progressive transactional accounts profile that is looking for a step up into a team leader position, or someone that has proven team leader experience wanting a new challenge in an exciting, growing company. The company is a well-established organisation that promotes clear pathways of progression from transactional accounts into management accounts over the long term. Job Description
* Supervise the purchase ledger team, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing.
* Monitor and manage supplier accounts, resolving any discrepancies or queries promptly.
* Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial regulations.
* Assist in the preparation of payment runs and maintain accurate financial records.
* Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
* Provide regular reporting and updates to senior management on ledger performance.
* Support the team with training and development to enhance their skills and capabilities.
* Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the Accounting & Finance department.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Purchase Ledger Team Leader should have:
* Proven experience in managing a purchase ledger or accounts assistant role
* Strong knowledge of financial systems and relevant software.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
* Understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
* A proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.
* Relevant accounting qualifications or willingness to pursue study support.
